Meditation In-person and virtual meditation classes

Pretty Sure You Can't Meditate? in-person and virtual meditation classes

I can't sit still long enough.

I can't turn off my brain.

Thinking of nothing is too hard.

I'm not flexible enough to sit on the floor.

I don't have time.

Meditation is for hippies.

It won't help.

Sound familiar? Have an excuse not listed?

Meditation isn't thinking of nothing, it doesn't have to take long, you don't have to sit on the floor (or in a cave or on a mountain top), you don't have to light incense and wear patchouli, and you're not expected to turn off your brain.

The pracitce of meditation, even just a few moments in your day, can help lower your blood pressure, decrease inflammation due to stress, release tension, improve mood, boost your energy, ease anxiety, help improve sleep, and more.

Yes, You Can

In a meditation class with Burgundie, we begin with movement to get your wiggles out. in-person and virtual meditation classes

A meditation practice doesn't have to be sitting cross-legged for hours in an Instagram worthy pose. Meditation can be just about anything. Running, breathing, chopping wood, chopping celery, painting, writing, drawing, singing, walking.

The intention of meditation is to focus on the thing that you're doing in the moment and not allowing your mind to wander. But it will. And so the practice of meditation is returning.

If you can focus on the sensation of your inhale from the bottom to the top without letting your mind get caught up in what you need to make for dinner, that's meditation. If you can focus on the sensation of filling the pot with water and putting it on the stove to boil, that's meditation.

Anyone can meditate. Even you. Worst case scenario, you spend 20 minutes breathing and that's it.
